I love sweatshirts.  I own A LOT of them!  They are in regular rotation during the fall and winter months.  I always keep at least a few out of seasonal storage in the summer for those nights that are just a little too cool.  A sweatshirt is even better if it’s paired with something unexpected…like a pencil skirt, pumps, and a statement necklace.  What’s even better than that? A sweatshirt that is fancy on it’s own!  When I saw this sweatshirt with embellished shoulders on clearance at boohoo I thought, “You will be mine!” The only problem was picking a color.  I went with gray because it’s so versatile and it’s my favorite neutral.  What do you think? Do you “fancy up” your sweatshirts?
Today I’m linking up with Rita at http://suburbsmama.blogspot.com/ for her What We Wore Link Up.  Swing by and check out Rita and the other great blogs who are linking up!

Style Tip:  When you’re wearing a top that is embellished near the neckline, go with minimal or no jewelry up top (necklaces, earrings).  Let the embellishment take center stage.

It’s Tuesday, so that means it’s time for some blog hopping!  This week I’m linking up with Laura, Erin, and Tara for the Trend Spin Linkup, Tori for the Anything and Everything Linkup, Amber for The Real Girl Style Weekly Fashion Linkup at Real Girl Glam, and Lauren for her Style Sessions: Weekly Fashion Linkup.  Fun stuff!  So click the links and sit back and enjoy some outstanding fashion inspiration!
On to today’s outfit… This weeks Trend Spin challenge was red, white, and blue. I didn’t want to go full out patriotic, because that just isn’t me. I did decide though, the time had come to work these white pumps into an outfit.  I’ve had them for quite awhile, but I’ll admit they kind of scared me so they’ve sat alone and neglected in the back of my closet. I got them on clearance at Baker’s because I thought at the time, “Wow, I could do so much with white pumps and I don’t have any!”  When I got them home I got a little intimidated. I don’t know why, some sort of weird fashion mental block I guess.  Anyway, I threw them on with my boyfriend jeans, striped tee, and blazer for this outfit and loved them. Now the white pumps have been liberated from the back of the closet and can enjoy a place in the shoe rotation!

Coral is one of my favorite colors. I’ve never seen anyone who doesn’t look good in coral. It’s a bright sunny color that somehow makes you feel happier when you wear it.  It highlights your tan (faux or otherwise), and it works equally well on fair skin. What’s not to love?  Even though they are obviously different, I consider both the blazer and the top to be coral. One is more on the orangey end of the spectrum, while the other is more on the pink end. Even so, they really play well together.  I picked the blazer up at JCPenney several months ago on clearance for just $10. Can’t beat that right? The jeans are my current favorites.  They’re my go to jeans when it’s too cool for shorts…which isn’t very often lately!

I looovvvee anything sparkly! I’m immediately attracted to sparkles…like a magpie!  So, it goes without saying I had to have this top as soon as I stumbled upon it on Ebay.  The nice thing about it is that it has sequins all over. My other sequin top only had sequins on the front and I wasn’t really happy with it. You know how it goes, it did the trick until the right one came along! The other nice thing is, I got it for under $15, which is fabulous! A bargain is a good thing…especially when it’s something that you really want.  I paired it with my GAP sexy boyfriend jeans and casual wedges because I’m a big fan of putting together things that oppose each other~ dressy/casual, masculine/feminine, good girl/bad girl.  Today is the Casual Friday Link Up with http://twothirtyfivedesigns.blogspot.com/. I’m also linking up with Rita at http://suburbsmama.blogspot.com/2013/06/what-we-wore-3.html.  Stop by and check out what the other girls have going on today!

This is one of my favorite skirts. It can be dressed up or down, and it’s soft, stretchy, and comfortable.  And I love all of the colors in the graphic print.  It was one of my first purchases from boohoo. I discovered them about two months ago. They’re an online retail store based in the UK. Their clothes are super cute, trendy, and very affordable. They ship any order over $25 free to the US. And believe me, it’s pretty easy to spend $25 to get the free shipping!
I often find myself wearing skirts or sundresses in the summer. They are much cooler (temperature-wise) to wear than shorts.  It’s funny though how when you throw on a tank top and shorts no one thinks anything of it, but if you change out the shorts for a skirt people ask why you’re dressed up!  One last thing, check out the Summer Style Link Up over at Mix and Match Fashion!
