On Monday I shared a mini dissertation on differing points of view. I decided to continue that today in regard to style…
THE STORY
…As my regular readers are aware, I’m more than a little bit of a fan of boyfriend jeans; the more beat up and the slouchier the better. I love my skinny jeans, but nothing beats a soft, loose, hip hanging pair of boyfriends in my book…except maybe these fine alpaca joggers, but more on that in a bit. Over time I have found that my husband’s least favorite jeans on me are, you guessed it, boyfriend jeans.
The why is simple; it’s the butt factor. Sure, I appreciate when my rear view looks mighty fine as much as the next girl, but with that being said, I will willingly sacrifice that any day of the week for the loose easy comfort of a pair of BF’s. I know too, that many women wouldn’t be caught dead in anything but skinny jeans and that’s cool as well. It’s all a matter of personal preference and point of view. Which leads me to what I’m wearing today.
I put this jogger set on in the morning and felt comfy cozy and all kinds of slouchy cool-girl chic. My feelings were affirmed when I got to work and all day long my lady friends were all over it. My girls in every age group, 20’s through 60’s were crushing on the alpaca awesomeness. When I got home, my man and I left for dinner without me taking off my coat first. When I removed it at the restaurant I get, “You wore that to work?” Figure flattering? Perhaps not. But did I feel fabulous in it? Hell yeah. See? It’s all in the point of view…
THE OUTFIT
Seriously, what more can I say? Alpaca. Joggers. My love for all things alpaca started with the hand warmers I found at a craft show back in October. I acquired another pair for Christmas and I wear them all of the time. They are the softest warmest things ever.
What is alpaca you might be wondering? Well an alpaca is an adorable little mini llama-like critter that hails from South America. Oh, and they spit. How adorable is that? They were actually specifically bred for their fur. And can I tell you how yummy soft alpaca knit is?
Imagine my delight when I happened upon this jogger set on clearance at H&M. Now I could not only cover my chilly little paws with alpaca, I could swaddle my entire body in it. O.M.G. I am now one with the alpaca my friends.
Here’s the key though…while the temptation was strong to throw on my sweet pink Pumas (which have somehow not made an appearance here yet), I instead went with ankle boots with a heel. Why? Because if you’re going with a full-on casual jogger/hoodie combo, alpaca or not, on a weekday it’s not a bad idea to take the footwear up a notch with a heel of some sort. Weekend Walmart run? Pumas all the way baby.
THE TIP
One word…alpaca.

So my knitting friend actually has a bunch of alpacas that she then sheers for the wool and sells to us knitters!! Isn’t is the greatest ever?? If you ever come visit, we can go visit the animals…but they aren’t nice and cuddly—-just the yarn is!!
So having said that, how could I not be in love with this outfit? And you know me, the shoes are the make or break point!! And I think you hit the right note with these ankle boots—otherwise, it’d look too predictable!!

Oh how fun…we could have an alpaca adventure! I’ve heard that alpacas are kind of unpleasant, but I’ll forgive them since they’re soft and fluffy! Sneakers would have absolutely been the expected route. If it hadn’t been so snowy I would have probably went with pumps instead of the boots. Expected or not though, would the pale pink Pumas not be perfect with this?
I bought a pair of joggers in white by Zara a few months ago, They feel like you are wearing nothing! Just great. And I think this looks pretty good!

They are cozy for sure! I’ve always loved joggers…not only are they comfortable, but they can be dressed up or down, just like jeans.
Oh that comfort factor cannot be beat! Plus you look adorable as can be!!

Thanks for linking up to Top of the World Style. There is something special about this look. However, I can’t quite put my finger at what makes it so cool.

Wow, loving this! It looks so cozy and really luxe too! Your husband’s reaction cracks me up, because mine is forever perplexed by my fashion statements. Lately he’s been scratching his head over the pom pom bag charm on my purse … he keeps asking “but what’s it for?” ….lol.
Thanks for linking up with Fun Fashion Friday. Have a fun-day Sunday!

This look is so comfy casual and cute. Thankfully, we haven’t had any major snow this winter but this would be perfect for the weekend for running errands. #HighLatitudeStyle
