Tuesdays are like the red-headed stepchild of the weekdays. It’s just kind of there. Ignored and nothing special. But yesterday was the exception, at least for me. It was a Tuesday/Friday hybrid. Yes, it was still Tuesday, but it was the last day of the work week hence Tuesday/Friday. It’s Thanksgiving break my friends, and I couldn’t be happier about that. That’s probably one thing that teachers and students definitely have in common. When the final bell rings on the last day before a long break, we too want to run out of the building screaming, “Woo hoo I’m free, I’m free!!” Maybe that’s just me, but I really don’t think so.
And what better thing to wear while running and screaming out of work than a floaty plaid duster. It’s perfect for just such an activity because it’s light and billowing and floats behind you in a Disney princess kind of way. That’s not the reason I bought it, but it was an added bonus. I bought it because c’mon, it’s just straight up cool. And there are so many ways it can be styled. I’m thinking that with a belt and a broach it will make a fabulous wrap dress layered over a slip. Today I went the more casual route and paired it with skinnies and my favorite graphic sweatshirt. I finished it with yet another totally killer statement necklace from Walmart.
Speaking of statement necklaces from Walmart, you still have about three days to enter my Winter Faves giveaway which just so happens to include a sweet piece of neckbling. The giveaway is open until midnight EST on Friday and the winner will be announced Monday, December 1.

Oh, then I suppose I shouldn’t rub it in that we get the entire week off for Turkey Day, eh? I’ve been mass culling my house anyway, so no need to envy me.
LOL! I’m just excited we had Wednesday off too…normally we don’t. We have Monday off because it’s the first day of deer season…gotta love Northwestern PA.

Wow! You duster is striking! I just wouldn’t have the confidence to pull this off at all! Love how you’ve styled it with a graphic tee and statement necklace. You look great.
Thanks so much Lorna!
I really want that plaid duster and it looks great with the printed tee and fashion statement necklace. I love your hair, too!
Thanks Carrie! I joined your link up!
I, too, ran out of work with a little bit ‘o “woo hoo” in my step, though we didn’t get out until last night (around 8 PM, no less). It was kind of nice having about half of my students already gone on Thanksgiving holidays, but still. I wanted to be on holiday. No fair! I <3 your necklace!
