Unless there has been some unpublicized or perhaps unnoticed alteration in the space-time continuum…
THE STORY
…time is progressing at the same rate that it always has. If that’s the case, then why does it feel like someone has been shaking the hourglass; like maybe the sand is running down more quickly than it should? Is it age that makes it feel like someone has cranked the knob on time up to warp speed? Or is it the fact there’s so much going on around us and we’re so busy getting it all done that we just don’t realize that we’re burning daylight? I started debating this in my head because yesterday I did our taxes. Why did doing taxes cause me to wax poetic about the passage of time? Uh, because I thought it was just yesterday that the school year started, but now I’m completing our tax return and it’s the last nine weeks of the school year. What. The. Hell? Seriously. How did that even happen? I swear that I honestly do attempt to notice and enjoy the moments. I really do. Yet somehow the roller coaster is barreling down the far side of the highest hill and I don’t even remember the climb.
THE OUTFIT
This is a basic sweater/jeans/tank top outfit. The foundation is just simple basics. What makes it special is the add-ons; the icing on the cake if you will. And the super fancy frosting flowers on the icing on the cake? This crazy gorgeous fringed handbag. The beading and the fringe make it a standout, but the buttery soft leather makes it irresistible. As soon as I was approached to collaborate and saw the beautiful fringe purses by Boho Bags, I was sold. The hardest part was deciding which color to go with; I ended up with tan because although the turquoise is stunning, I figured tan or brown would be so much more versatile. It also has an adjustable strap; a small detail I know, but one that made me really happy. So many bags do not have an adjustable strap, and being a short girl, that’s a problem. My choices are usually tie an awkward knot in the strap or trip over my purse because it’s so long it gets wrapped around my ankles.
The boots are the tan version of my killer floral print ankle boots. I needed a replacement pair of tan boots and since my floral pair was so super comfortable, I decided the tan pair was worth the investment. And I’ve gotta say, that was a genius decision on my part. I love them almost as much as their floral print sisters. To complete the boho vibe, I went with a tassel pendant necklace and the layered stone necklace.
THE TIP
This outfit is the perfect example of how accessories can change an entire outfit. I went with all boho-inspired accessories from the fringed handbag to the boots to the jewelry; all of that layered over a basic sweater and jeans and you have a boho look. Think about it. Had I gone with pumps, a simple clutch and layered gold chains this outfit would have given off an entirely different vibe. It’s as easy as that; keep your outfit basic and let your accessories do all of the heavy lifting.

Thank you Suzy! Sometimes there’s that one accessory that makes all the difference…
It’s a cliché that we all feel time speed up as we age but I concur with your observation about time lately. It’s fleeing, not passing. Doesn’t feel like we had any Spring yet and it’s already April. I keep thinking it’s 2015 and have to correct myself. Thanks for making me feel less crazy.

No problem my friend. That’s what I’m here for…lol!
Yes I think most of us over 40 (wait till 60!) feel times pass more quickly. And we just did our taxes too, and it did NOT feel like a year since we did them last! Love your boho look and you’re so right about accessories making the outfit sing. xox

Remember when you were a kid and the days went by so slowly? The closer we get to death the faster it goes. Morbid but true.

That bag is amazing! I love your outfit. I wish I had your hair color! Peace! Cheryl
A lovely outfit .. casual, but has that extra effort with the accessories that really makes it look special. I wish women would take the time add accessories (myself included!).

Great style Deb. I dont know, it seems to go by fast.I enjoyed teaching at most school, but some the time couldnt go by fast enough. You know the teachers at the end of the year writing 25 days left of school.. I was writing 110 days left of school! J/K ! I do think these past months have flew by.
Love the black cardi and it loos great with the fringe bag.I might have to look into one this year. Great boots too!

So true on many points. Where the heck does the time go?! And accessories are such a great way of lending a particular vibe to an outfit. That bag is amazing!

Deb there is nothing simple about this jeans and sweater look and I mean that as a compliment. Your new gifted bag and cognac booties are adorable. I just picked up some faux suede orlive booties, in this style, too. Love that you made this boho-perfect!
I feel you about time passing by quickly. Sometimes I have to correct myself that it is not 2015. I opened my Facebook in the morning two days ago and every now and then Facebook lets you look back at past memories. The photo of my daughter celebrating her first Easter (she was only 15 weeks old) popped up. It definitely made me think how super fast all these three years have gone.
Welcome by and linkup with me tomorrow. The linkup will be open a day early. Thanks pretty lady. =) Happy April!

I hear you! I felt like it was yesterday I graduated from high school! Here I am 3 kids later with one going into 5th grade next year and the others following…where has time gone…and what about all those things I have to get done and haven’t had time…and mind you I work really fast and still can’t find the time to do half the stuff I need…is time cheating me?? Probably not but it’s the value (as in quality) of time that’s become cheaper as we engorge it with more and more things to do everyday.
