Another day, another graphic tee. Or in this case a graphic tank top…
As I’ve mentioned previously, not just any graphic tank top or tee makes the cut and finds a home in my tee shirt drawer (okay, “drawers” plural). This one actually meets both of my criteria; it means something to me and it amuses me. If I had a dime for every time either my husband or myself says this in a week, I’d have enough money to retire to my beach house in the alternate reality in my head.
It’s one of those phrases that has become trendy making it somewhat trite. But if you think about it though it’s really a good catchphrase for life. I had an epiphany a few months back where I realized that some people just aren’t worth the time and effort that you put into them. There are a few people whom I have spent almost all of my years on this earth trying to please and needless to say it hasn’t worked. Some things occurred in recent months that made me realize it’s them, not me and there is nothing I can do to change that. I’m too old for games. So I just needed to cut them lose and let it go…it is what it is.
It also applies to the less serious moments in life. For example, women in pajamas with no bras at Walmart…it is what it is. Chickens who enjoy camping…it is what it is. See what I mean? It really applies to any situation. You just need to accept things as they are and move on because some things in life you’ll just never understand.
The reason I decided to layer the lace vest over the graphic tank is twofold. First of all, I needed a third piece to add some visual interest to the outfit. Second, and maybe most important, I needed to add something that gave a longer line to the cropped joggers. Although they’re linen, they are somewhat bulky. I think it might be due to the waist band. Since the vest is long, but lightweight, I felt like it camouflaged the bulkiness of the pants. If I had wanted to go dressier, I think a fitted blazer would have done the trick as well.

Aww…Susan, thank you! Maybe I’ll do some sort of tutorial…hair and makeup…I do get a lot of comments on it. Something to think about!
I love the pants too, so comfortable. The only downside is like I said, they’re kind of weirdly bulky instead of drapey…still love ’em though.

Lol! I realized the spidey was in the shots after I was done. All credit for our fabulous plants goes to my husband…he is the master of growing monstrous house plants.
It is what it is. Good morning Debbie. I honestly want to give you a standing ovation for this post. It is what it is. I’m living paragraph 2 right now and have come to the conclusion that it is what it is, some people are just not worth it.So thanks for taking the words out of my mouth. I love your tank, and the layering did add interest for sure. I love the whole look but those words - icing on the cake. Have a good day darling. xx

Thanks Claire!
I’m a huge fan of graphic & print tees and tanks and I have a small collection myself. This one is fab. The saying might be overused at the moment, but I find it to be one you cannot dispute. Once you accept things, life becomes a lot less stressful. On the other hand, which saying/quote isn’t overused at the moment, with everyone creating them for pins and insta likes? :p
Have a nice weekend!

I envy your graphic tees. I only have a few myself and need more. Love this tank and Summer layering to perfection with that pretty long lace vest/ The dainty layered necklaces are my favorite!
