Yes, my friends, it’s official…
THE STORY
…the Christmas season has arrived. In my world, it isn’t official until the tree is up; which it now is. I don’t know how you feel, but honestly I don’t think the holiday season should kick off until Thanksgiving. And Black Friday should start umm…Friday. Not Thanksgiving Day at 6 o’clock. That’s just my opinion, no offense to those of you who feel Thursday is the new Friday.
I myself prefer online shopping at this time of year; actually I prefer it all year, but especially now. I’m not a huge fan of crowds and I’m less of a fan of rudeness. Perhaps it’s the pressures of the season, perhaps it’s just the odds. More people are out so the odds are higher that you run into rude people. Whatever the case I prefer to avoid the irritation and shop from the comfort of home.
“I MYSELF PREFER ONLINE SHOPPING AT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR…”
Besides, there are just as many deals to be found online and there are so many more options in regard to gifts for myself others. Ya, I’m one of those people. I do love getting things for the people I love, especially things that they will love, but mama needs a little somethin’ too, know what I’m sayin’?
THE OUTFIT
At the beginning of the summer, Covered Perfectly was kind enough to gift me with this fabulous zebra print cascading vest. It was so floaty and delicious I knew that another one was in order when they approached me again recently. And the fashion gods were smiling on me once again when I found this floral print cascading vest upon perusing their site. It’s a darker floral print that works well this time of year, but will look equally as good in the summer with a tank top and a pair of denim shorts.
It added just enough extra butt coverage since I decided to go with leggings on the bottom. The tunic cowl neck sweater left too little to the imagination, so the floral print cascading vest was the perfect add-on for a hair more coverage. I had sized up in the sweater because I love a loose slouchy fit, but it was still not quite long enough. Yes, I am firmly entrenched in the “leggings are not pants” camp. This is an epic battle my friends.
“I AM FIRMLY ENTRENCHED IN THE LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS CAMP…”
And no, it’s not an age thing. I have always felt this way. I currently have the sweetest personal care aid in my classroom who happens to be younger than my sons and she too believes that leggings are not pants…a girl after my own heart. If I didn’t already lover her, I might love her for that alone. As I’ve said before, if leggings were pants they would be called pants. What do you think…cover the butt or not?
THE TIP
For the love of all things holy, please cover your girly bits when wearing leggings. Tunics and long vests were made for this. Trust me, they were.

Love the print of your vest, it is gorgeous!
The boots! LOVE!
I don’t really care so much about the leggings as pants thing. As long as they aren’t see through, in which case it becomes more like wearing footless tights as pants.

I am totally with you on online shopping. Seems like with the crowds, the fab sales, and the competition to get the last size on those cute shoes LOL, people do get a bit crazy at the stores. I do majority of my shopping online especially during the holidays and love it 🙂 Love your casual look, the vest adds a fun element with the pretty print. XOXO, Elif

I’m with Suzanne re the leggings - if you’re going to wear them, I don’t wanna see what colour your underwear is!!!
Beautiful vest - perfect choice with the sweater. And that jacket - oooh that took me by surprise! Didn’t you just sneak that in. Goes so well with the colours of the vest.
