I raided my man’s closet again; his denim shirt had that just right amount of slouch that mine was lacking…
THE STORY
…Now mind you, he hasn’t worn it since I don’t know when, nor does he mind that I occasionally borrow his things. But what are the odds that I wore this to work on Friday and on Saturday he was looking for it to wear to our grandson’s first birthday party? Yes, our grandbaby is a whole year old now, but that’s a story for another day. Anyhow, the odds apparently are outrageously high. I told him it was lying on the laundry hamper, but it wasn’t actually dirty…I mean c’mon, it’s not like chimney sweep is my chosen profession. I handed it to him and he sniffed it, because, well, that’s what one does when determining the relative dirtiness of an item of clothing. He said, “Mmm…it smells like you. I’ll wear it.” How sweet is that? Actually, it’s super sweet because unless you know me in real life you don’t know what fragrance I wear. I’ve worn the same smell forever; seriously for decades and it’s my own secret blend of several scents, so if you catch a whiff of it, you know I have to be in the vicinity. Still, what’s the big deal? My particular blend is very gourmand in nature. I’ve had people tell me I smell like a sugar cookie, cotton candy, vanilla ice cream…you get my drift. Trust me, I don’t smell like a twelve year girl on a bender at Bath & Body works, it has a grown up girl edge to it. But with that being said, my man looovvvees me if he doesn’t mind going out in public smelling like a vanilla cotton candy sugar cookie.
THE OUTFIT
How freakin’ adorable are these floral Bzees slip-ons? This is a pair from their Signature Slip-Ons line. You know I can’t resist a good floral print and when the floral print is on a pair of sneakers? Sign me up. They say on their website that they are made with cloud technology and they’re filled with unicorn down…doubt me, click over and check out the description. And ya know what, these babies are filled with unicorn down. At least what I imagine unicorn down would feel like. They are insanely comfortable and super lightweight. One caveat: you might want to size up a half size. I realized after I already had worn them outside that I probably should have gone up half a size, but even so, they are really comfy and well made and will definitely be getting a lot of love.
Me being me, I had to style them with a skirt instead of jeans. One would expect them to be cute with jeans, therefore I didn’t go that route. Truth be told, I had already sported them with jeans, but held off on blogging them until I paired them with said skirt. I decided a gray pencil skirt was the way to go. The hubby’s denim shirt and my moto jacket went up top, and I added a blue statement necklace to tie in with the blue print in the shoes.
THE TIP
When styling sneakers with a skirt or dress, steer clear of “work out” styles. Slip-ons or Converse work with pretty much anything in your wardrobe and add a fun twist to a skirt or dress.

I love how the colours of the necklace are picked up in the slip ons. And that’s so sweet what you’re husband said. Sadly I can’t ‘borrow’ anything from my husband. With him being sooo tall, they’re dresses on me - and not dresses you’d want to wear either!!
You’re right about avoiding sneakers that look anything like footwear you’d wear in the gym. I loved my silver mock croc slips from the summer so much that I got a snakeskin effect pair.

Ok… this must be a man thing! I raid my dude’s closet for t-shirts and button downs that need a bit more slouch than the ones in my closet and I think that just about every time that I do, he goes looking for whatever I have on just as I’ve put it on. Then, there’s a tirade about me raiding his closet. I always offer to let him raid my closet, but for some reason, he never wants to…
