Watercolors

I just came across this blouse in my closet…I haven’t worn it for a really long time and I’m not sure why.  I guess I forgot I had it!  Some might say it’s because I have too many clothes, but I’m just going to chalk it up to forgetfulness!  The colors are so pretty and it’s light and sheer, so it’s just right for summer.  I found this necklace on Sassy Steals and I loved the bright colors.  It will be perfect with a white tee, but I liked how the colors in the necklace picked up the colors in the blouse.  These are the pink shoes I mentioned the other day…love them!  I needed pink flats and these were under $10, so I snapped them up.
Today I’m linking with Everyday Fashion and Finance and Perfectly Coutured for their Three-fer Thursday link up,Tara at Mix and Match Fashion for the Summer Style Link Up and Share Your Style Saturday at Clairejustineoxox. Swing by and check out what the other girls are wearing today!

Style Tip:  Use accessories to play up the colors in your clothing.  Don’t be afraid of mixing colors…your accessories don’t all have to be the same color.  Variety makes your outfit more interesting.

King Of The Jungle

One of my girlfriends thinks this t-shirt is absolutely awful.  Personally, I think it’s so over the top that it’s supremely cool!  I found this little gem in the boy’s department at WalMart last summer and I had to have it.  I brought it home and did a little minor surgery (sleeve and collar removal) on it and…voila! Perfectly fabulous!  I’ve been known to wear it to work with a blazer and pencil skirt, trust me, no one else is ever rockin’ the same outfit.  I love things that are quirky and different; things you wouldn’t necessarily see someone else wearing, at least not in the same way.  And how about these shoes?! I just got them and I’m in love.  I also got a pair in bright pink…they’ll be making an appearance later this week.

Style Tip:  Don’t be afraid to take risks and be different.  Something that might seem to be too much at first glance might end up being the one piece that makes the outfit.

Sort of Red, White, & Blue…

…but sort of not! The shorts are actually more of a pinky-coral than they are red.  When I put this outfit together it wasn’t for the 4th of July, but when I looked at the pics it could certainly pass as patriotically festive, right?  This is one of my new jcrew-inspired fan necklaces.  Love them! I also have it in turquoise.  If I removed the necklace and swapped the multi-color flats for white sandals or Converses, I’d have a perfectly acceptable backyard barbecue get-up!
Today I’m linking up with Tara at Mix & Match Fashion for her Summer Style LinkUp. Stop by and say “Hello”!

Style Tip:  A statement necklace dresses up just about anything.  But in the summer when the heat might make a larger necklace uncomfortable, layer several more delicate necklaces in varying lengths to dress up your look.
