Lace Up Leggings & Floral Duster: Speechless

Well friends, I have been sitting here in front of the computer for over an hour now…

THE STORY

…It’s one of those times where my mind is drawing a complete and utter blank in regard to what I want to write about. Trust me, I always have a lot to say about a plethora of topics, but occasionally I just can’t seem to get it to transfer from brain to the keyboard.

So for tonight, I am going to have to concede defeat. My uncooperative brain wins this round. My apologies if you dropped by for a good story…hopefully the super fabulous leggings I’m wearing will ease the disappointment. 🙂 And never fear, I’ll have a good story waiting for you in the next post.

THE OUTFIT

I have to tell you, it is amazing how the smallest detail can make all of the difference in an outfit. Take these lace up leggings for example. Leggings are leggings, right? Not when you add a simple lace up detail to the leg they aren’t. I got more compliments on these leggings than I have on any single piece in a long time. And the nice thing is, not only do they have cool detailing, but they are also a thicker knit so they aren’t see-thru, and they have a comfortable wide waistband.

Even though as I said they are a heftier weight knit, I still like to keep the rear view covered hence the floral duster. It makes the perfect layering piece over tanks and tees and I’m a fan of darker florals in the Fall. Instead of plain white I went with a graphic tee to throw a little bit of print mixing in just for fun.

THE TIP

Look for special little details on ordinary every day pieces like black leggings and tee shirts. The lace up detail on this pair really sets them apart. This ruffle sleeve tee that I wore last month is a perfect example of how just a small tweak in the details can make a basic piece a standout.
